About HexDay

The idea is simple (maybe too simple). You can sign up an account (currently with as minimal info as possible) then once a day you pick a color.

That's it. One color per day.

The idea is that hopefully as more people use it the patterns created and the trends that form from day to day might make for some interesting graphics, color patterns and trends. Will herd mentality kick in and certain colors go through popularity spurts, will there be trends based on day of the week, month. Will global news impact colors, weather trends. Who knows.

Currently it's the bare minimum to get it running, I have some interesting things like OSX dashboard widgets in the works and js widgets that can be plugged into things like blogs or face-book pages to show a persons color picks for the last few days. I'm adding some additional color cross sell and color variations to the colors, and there is some enhanced color trend analytics in the pipeline as well. Just got to find some time for a real job and sleep.

I'm currently using Gravatar for avatars, it's easy to use, and saves you uploading images all over the web that get out of sync, if you don't have an account yet and you use the same email addy everywhere online for registrations and when you comment on blogs, I'd highly recommend setting up an account, it's an awesome idea

Keep an eye on the blog, I'll post all updates and new feature announcements there.
